General conditions:
PLATEAU advocates and applies the bottom-up approach, identifying social needs from the base and roots of societies in the field (grassroots). It focuses on international and national cooperation as well as open dialogue with local, public and private actors at all levels, with full respect and understanding of the needs of local communities.
In addition, PLATEAU makes utmost effort to contribute to the identification, design and implementation of integrated programs (program approach) with full respect to the international practices and values: 
a) Maintains respect and compliance with international humanitarian aid and development program practices of planning, design and implementation;
b) Respects the United Nations Principles for implementation of actions concerning the protection of human rights against racial, religious or other discrimination;
c) Adapts continuously to  international law, rules and practices as well as to  operational frames of similar organizations , not only at the level of achievement of objectives but also at the levels of operation, control and reliability.

Finally, emphasis is placed on cost effectiveness and the sound management of funds to achieve the maximum outcome within allocated budgets. More specific, of primary concern to members is funds management with full respect to contractual obligations with donors as well as Greek legislation over recovery and management of funds with emphasis on implementation of procedures in such a way as to ensure the highest possible transparency.
